Ses Minyones charity fundraiser

THE Calvia Beach Fest was held on Sunday by Pirates Beach Bar and the 41 club alongside Calvia Council, in aid of Ses Minyones Orphanage.

This proved to be a great success where a staggering amount of around €5,000 was raised for The Orphanage.

All funds raised will go towards school books and clothing for the 33 children aged five – 12 living in the orphanage.

There were market stalls, live music, bouncy castle, face painting, water balloon stocks, wish balloons, raffles and many more fundraising activities going on throughout the day.

Some of the stalls included Cancer Research and Age Concern, Calvia Lions, PEC (a) SS apadrinamiento y adopciones – animal charity The bands that kept everyone entertained all day were: The Hats, Ex-tress, The Tim Mitchel Band, The Raggle Taggle Gypsies, DJ Indie Matt and Albie Davis Pirates beach bar in conjunction with Calvia Council (Angela Guerrero and Sally Maddock) and 41 Club (Edward Ingram) would like to say a huge thank you for the support and generous donations from all the residents, and their main sponsor Manolo from Highland Gold alongside his 50 centimos project.

Also to the staff who worked some very long shifts and everyone that volunteered and came down to help along the way.

All in all a day of fun and successful fundraising for a worthy cause.
