Puerto Banus boat fire casualties

TWO people were taken to hospital after a fire broke out on a leisure boat in Puerto Banus in Marbella this morning (September 28).
 
The alert was raised at 10.30am with a call being made to the emergency services with reports of a boat on fire at the port. 
 
Local and National Police officers as well as paramedics soon arrived on the scene.
 
First reports indicate at least two people were on board the burning vessel, both were conveyed to hospital by paramedics. 
A 50-year-old man sustained minor burn injuries, whilst a 34-year-old woman was treated for smoke inhalation. 
 
Both were taken to Hospital Comarcal Costa del Sol.
 
The on-board fire was soon extinguished by firefighters, preventing the blaze causing damage to nearby boats 
 
The cause of the fire is yet to be identified.
