COLEGAS invited to US Ambassador’s party

COLEGAS' Paco Ramírez with the US Ambassador

THE Spanish LGBT association COLEGAS has expressed thanks to US ambassador James Costos for inviting the association to a cocktail party celebrated at his private residence in Madrid.

The celebration, which took place on Saturday September 27, was organised in honour of the ambassador’s first year at the US Embassy in Madrid.

COLEGAS was represented by its president Paco Ramírez at the event which saw a range of organisations and famous faces in attendance including Alaska and Mario Vaquerizo and Miguel Bosé.

Of the experience, Paco Ramírez said: “Everyone knows of the important work James Costos has done for the promotion of LGBT rights in the United States, and he has told me of his commitment to continue promoting LGBT rights in our country, supporting LGBT organisations and giving value to their work.

“I’ve invited the ambassador to come and see some of the work we are doing, or attend one or our events, and he has indicated that he would like to do so.”

According to those who attended the party, ambassador James Costos and his husband James Smith were excellent hosts throughout the night.
