Kenth Boutrup, one of the owners of Loft & Roomers, told us about this success story: “My family and I have been coming to Marbella on holidays for at least 20 years and have always loved the place. We owned a successful business-to-business furniture store in Denmark and always thought that there was a niche in the market for good-quality, affordable furniture. Somewhere in between the cheaper DIY stores and the more expensive brands. Or as we like to put it, ‘Nordic living for less’.

It was the experience and expertise of the Dahl-Jepsen family in Denmark that made them finally go ahead and in 2012, in a record three-month timescale, Loft & Roomers opened in the highly sought-after area of Marbella’s Golden Mile with four members of the family currently working together.

“Our confidence and enthusiasm for the business comes from the fact that we know what we are dealing with, which is good-quality furniture at reasonable prices, paired with a good service,” said Kenth.

When asked about the customer care that they provide, Kenth said: “Our staff is mostly Scandinavian, but we all speak English and Spanish – it is a requirement to work here. We don’t have a specific Customer Care department, but we are happy to assist clients with any questions or queries after a sale. However, we only see clients coming back because they are so satisfied that they want to buy more!”

Loft & Roomers has an extensive selection of interior and garden lines. “We only select lines that are exciting and inspiring and are proud to offer our clients the latest trends,” added Kenth.

Interior lines are designed for livingrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms and even home offices. They include tables and chairs, beds, mattresses, linen and pillows, and an extensive selection of decoration items in the classiest of styles.

Garden furniture ranges including tables, chairs, parasols, sun beds, plants and ornaments, are created to fit perfectly in gardens full of light as well as smaller outdoor areas, such as apartment balconies.

But one of the most successful offers at Loft & Roomers is their set of packages, which makes it a (very classy) one-stopshop for clients. Kenth explained: “We have created packages designed to make property owners lives easier after they acquire a property here. For example, a kitchen set for eight people for €1,000 includes a kettle, a toaster, an ironing board, cutlery and crockery and cookware etc… always with customers’ needs in mind.

In addition to that, 90 per cent of their ranges are in stock at any given time. This means that clients of Loft & Roomers are able to enjoy their new furniture within 24 hours of their purchase. Delivery is free in a 100km radius, if spending more than €500 and their helpful staff will assemble any pieces that need it at no extra cost. “We even clean and clear everything afterward,” Kenth said. “Our objective is to create the perfect room for our clients to move in straightaway.

Last but not least, their newsletter and also a Facebook page is regularly updated for clients interested in the new lines coming in.

The stores are open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 9pm.
