New 30million jet for Tesco

cordon Press

Giant supermarket chain Tesco has confirmed they have taken delivery of a new private jet worth over €33 million Euros. The news comes just over a week after huge errors were found in the company’s accounts.

Apparently Tesco paid for the jet over 20 months and although the new chief executive, Dave Lewis, has ordered all the private jets owned by the company to be sold, the company is required to take delivery of the Gulfstream aircraft.

Tesco, whose market share price has plummeted by nearly 50% this year, already had a fleet of four private jets.

News of the private jet comes a fortnight after it emerged that Tesco had overstated its profits for the first half of the year by £250m. An independent inquiry ensued and resulted in the suspension of numerous key executives, including the managing director of UK.
