La Reserva de Marbella golf course
Euro Weekly News are proud to be supporting the Sala Super League, which is taking things to the next level. Two leagues in one, this amateur golf competition will offer you the opportunity to play against your teammates in the individual league and work together for the ultimate team prize – a three-day golfing trip to Portugal. However, don’t let the team event affect your personal playing power as the individual winner – and a friend – will also be heading to Portugal.
With only three events left, things will be heating up at this month’s Sala Super League Event,
that will take place on Sunday 19th October at La Reserva de Marbella golf course, followed by complimentary drinks and canapés at La Sala, Puerto Banus. With this month’s
competition we will raise money for the Caritas charity.
About Caritas.
Caritas is a long running charity with a firm message:
“We are one human family, we must help provide food for all”
This week October 12 to 19, Caritas has a worldwide campaign to bring awareness to
their bid to end world hunger by 2025. But it is not just abroad where they offer help. Locally,
Caritas helps the poor and unfortunate who have suffered with Spain’s high unemployment and
those who are too sick to work.
In San Pedro, Caritas offers a drop-in centre for the homeless where they can receive a warm meal and a place to receive temporary shelter. For those who are at least lucky enough to have a roof over their heads, Caritas provides families food parcels to ensure they have at least the basic staple products so the children don’t go to bed hungry.
The drop-in centres struggle to keep up with the needs of the ever-growing list of families on the
poverty line. This is why we need to do more to help those children who not only will never see
a present at Christmas, but need the basics like rice and milk to fill their empty tummies, and
shoes to keep their feet dry on their way to school.
This month’s venue is the La Reserva de Sotogrande golf course that opened in 2003 and
was designed by the prestigious North American golf course designer Cabell B.
Robinson. The 6,721-metre, 18-hole, par 72 course is a fantastic challenge for any golfer – both professional or amateur – thanks to its numerous tee options and imposing, fast greens that allow for a wide variety of pin positions.
It is unquestionably a spectacular experience, nestled on a unique estate that enables golfers to
enjoy some magnificent views of the mountains and down to the sea. These surroundings are
accompanied by a majestic clubhouse where both members and visitors can enjoy an
array of comforts, excellent service and an attractive menu in a setting that inspires tranquillity.
The exclusive year-long tournament – organised by Sala Group – has been kindly sponsored by
Stein Personal and Corporate Planners, Ecocarinvest, Currencies Direct, Euro Weekly News and Sportwagen Porsche Marbella. Not only a great sporting and networking competition for local businesses, the Sala Super League is also a vehicle to support local charities including DEBRA and Caritas.
The Sala Super League is open to all amateur golf players and teams. For the further
