Industry booming in Murcia

MURCIA has been the autonomous community with the largest increase in the turnover of industry last August with a growth of 20.4 per cent compared to the same month last year. New orders increased by 24.7 per cent.

According to the National Statistics Institute (INE) Murcia has bucked the national average where industry revenues fell 1.4 per cent compared to August 2013 and new orders saw a decline of 3.8 per cent. Specifically, orders decreased in nine regions of Spain and increased in the other eight. The largest decrease occurred in Valencia (-30.4 per cent) and the largest increase in Murcia (24.7 per cent).

Turnover decreased compared to August 2013 in 11 regions and increased in the other six. The largest decrease occurred in the Canary Islands (-27.9 per cent) and the largest increase was in Murcia (20.4 per cent).
