AMJASA: Quietly does it for meter-readers
AMJASA, the municipal company that supplies Javea’s domestic water, recently revamped its corporate image with an updated logo.
It has also acquired two electric cars that will be used by the company’s meter-readers must drive considerable distances each year in the course of their work.
It was because of many kilometres that they cover on a regular basis that the company decided to opt for electric vehicles, as these need less maintenance than conventional transport.
Fuel costs are also much lower than for vehicles that run on petrol or diesel oil while the electric cars also cut down on noise pollution and greenhouse emissions.
One of the cars is already in use while the other will come into service shortly, Amjasa said.

Hello, It is a good idea to use electric cars, especially for a cleaner environment, but where are the plug points to be able to charge up an electric car in Javea ? Being the owner of one, I can’t even find a standard two pin plug point, to charge up my car. With the somewhat stringent EU CO2 Emission Regulations, why are there no basic plugin points available. I want to help to keep the environment clean, especially within this beautiful area, and to keep my pocket a little fuller. Please help me to enable a cleaner atmosphere.
