BMW launches latest coupe

NEW BMW: Has an athletic and dynamic appearance.

BMW hopes that the new M6 Coupe, Gran Coupe and Convertible will allow the German company to restate its leadership in the high-performance luxury segment.
The new cars, BMW says, are poised to write a fresh chapter in its success story, fuelled by finely honed, well-resolved overall concept.
The new models announce their high-performance credentials before they even turn a wheel thanks to their athletic and dynamic appearance.
A front end with new, standard-fitted LED headlights makes their intentions immediately clear – the M specific double-bar kidney grille and eye-catching front apron with large air intakes see to that.
The powerfully sculpted front wings with hallmark M gills (including integrated side indicators), the side skirts and the exclusive forged 19-inch M light-alloy wheels (BMW M6 Gran Coupe exclusive forged 20-inch M light-alloy wheels) only add to this impression.
The sporting looks of the new M6 series are rounded off by a rear apron with integrated diffuser insert, two sets of M-specific twin tailpipes and the M6 logo on the boot lid.
Another exclusive M feature is the ultra-lightweight contoured carbon roof of the new BMW M6 Coupe and new BMW M6 Gran Coupe, which also helps to lower the cars’ centre of gravity visually.
Powering all three models is a 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 engine. This high-tech power unit impresses with its innovative M TwinPower Turbo technology – consisting of a pair of TwinScroll turbochargers, cross-bank exhaust manifolds, High Precision Direct Petrol Injection, Double-VANOS and VALVETRONIC – and customary M attributes, such as a powerful and sustained wave of torque from low rpm, instantaneous responses, an enormous appetite for revs, linear power delivery and a familiar M sound.
At the same time, the M turbocharged engine is highly efficient, making for excellent fuel economy.
The 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 engine develops 412 kW/560 hp between 6,000 and 7,000 rpm in the new BMW M6 Coupe, new BMW M6 Convertible and new BMW M6 Gran Coupe, and its peak torque of 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) is available across a broad rev band (1,500 – 5,750 rpm).
Yet the new BMW M6 Coupe and new BMW M6 Gran Coupe also post combined fuel consumption in the ECE test cycle of just 9.9 litres/100 km (28.5 mpg imp), equating to CO2 emissions combined of 231 g/km.
