GREEN STREETS: Cllr Dolores Buzon by the new artificial grass at Calle España
The council in Fuengirola, Costa Del Sol, is implementing a new system to help avoid accidents on pavements and improve the image of busy streets.
Trees on pavements are being surrounded by artificial grass which has been removed from the Elola sports grounds.
Green Areas Councillor Dolores Buzon explained that the system – that recycles artificial grass from the sports grounds – is being tested on streets around the Plaza de la Constitucion and, if successful, will spread to other areas. The artificial grass will prevent weeds from growing and level pavement surfaces to improve safety.
