An advert by the Spanish traffic authorities wishes for roads to regain their true function this year of helping people to meet up safely.
The advert features an imaginary Spanish village, Villarroyo, with just 14 inhabitants. An elderly resident sits at the entrance to the village and checks visitors off his list as they arrive and the village comes to life as families are reunited. Once everyone is accounted for the man changes the number of inhabitants on the name-sign before heading off to join celebrations.
The campaign explains roads should be for uniting people and loved ones and filling places with life without losing any on the way.
The traffic authority thanks drivers for taking care and following the rules and hopes for a victim-free 2015.
