A FACEBOOK comment has cost a man nine months behind bars.
The unnamed man has been told he must serve the sentence after he sent his ex-girlfriend the message despite a restraining order against him.
He had been banned from getting in touch with her in any way by a Domestic Violence court in Palma, Mallorca, in 2012. But just five days later he could not resist commenting on her Facebook profile picture.
His sarcastic ‘a la vete a enseñarlo guapa’ (showing what you have, beautiful) was enough for a Palma Court to jail him. He appealed against the sentence saying the court could not know that it was him who sent the message, but the court has rejected his application.
