SPANISH airline Iberia has been voted the fourth best in the world in terms of on-time performance during 2014.
Iberia scored an impressive 89.7 per cent for the On-Time Performance ratings (OTP) in a report published by OAG, an aviation data service that provides worldwide flight schedules. The Spanish carrier was beaten only by airBaltic (94.9 per cent OTP), Hawaiian Airlines (92.3 per cent OTP) and Austrian Airlines (90 per cent OTP). Propping up the top five came Norwegian Air Shuttle with an 89.7 per cent OTP.
OAG analysed 200 global airlines in terms of available seat miles in 2014 (a measure of airline capacity accounting for distance travelled) and those carriers that operated more than 30,000 scheduled flights during 2014.
The only two British airlines to appear in the top 20 of on-time performance were easyJet (14th place with 87.7 per cent OTP) and Monarch Airlines (18th with 86.9 per cent).
