THERE was a certain Malaga flavour brought to this week’s Ballon d’Or ceremony in Zurich, Switzerland, with British presenter Kate Abdo showing off her Spanish skills – skills that she picked up at the University of Malaga.
The popular Sky Sports News presenter was chosen to host this year’s awards – beamed all around the world –and Abdoused the platform to display her multilingual talents. The 33-year-old from Manchester is fluent in English, Spanish, French and German, and picked up her Spanish as a student at the University of Malaga between 2001 and 2003.
The former Costa del Sol resident has an honours degree in European languages from the University of Salford and has presented sports television shows in the UK and Germany.
