SECRETARY of Cooperation and Development for the PSOE (socialist party), Noemi Cruz, in Purchena joined a workers’ demonstration in the Almeria town.
The maintenance workers had their access barred to the military installation in Viator when returning to work after the New Year break. Their contracts had been ended when ownership was transferred between their employer and the Spanish government.
No crossover contract had been organised and the workers have been left in limbo with no earnings or method of supporting their families.
Cruz attended the rally, spoke to the workers and stood side by side with them in public protest. She passed on the support of the PSOE to the disgruntled workers.
