SAN JUAN hospital has had to turn down a local offer for staff discounts.
Members of ACEA, San Juan’s shopkeepers’ and business-owners’ association had proposed to give discounts to staff at the hospital in a bid to boost trade and attract custom.
The offer, made a year ago, was rejected by the hospital management board. “We are grateful for ACEA’s proposal but decided not to enter into an agreement,” hospital sources announced. As a state-owned hospital it was necessary to avoid all advertising related to products or businesses. It also had to be remembered that not all San Juan businesses were ACEA members, the same sources said.
