PRUNING: Parks, pathways and public areas of Torrevieja are being pruned to prevent possible spread of palm weevil.
PRUNING of palm trees in Torrevieja, Costa Blanca South, has commenced as part of measures to control and eradicate the red palm weevil pest.
Work is starting in Paseo de los Conquistadores and will continue throughout the city until the end of February.
A Torrevieja spokesperson said anyone who fears palms in their garden have been infested, should contact the town hall where municipal technical services will advise on procedures.
