VELEZ MALAGA will be able to boast two golf courses in the future
ONE last report from the National Government’s Development Ministry is what separates Velez-Malaga’s second golf course from becoming a reality.
The report would allow for the creation of a new access road from the motorway in the Chilches stretch, the last legal obstacle to the construction of the golf course, 14 years after the urban agreement was signed.
The complex, to be known as Juvigolf, will have an investment of €300 million for the construction of an 18-hole golf course, 1,534 homes, with 460 becoming subsidised, and a four-star hotel, placed in a 1.7-million-square-metre plot located in the town’s western area, at the border with Rincon de la Victoria and Macharaviaya.
The project is expected to be carried out between 2020 and 2025 and will represent an initial compensation for the municipal coffers of €7.5 million, out of which €2.5 million is yet to be paid.
