Only Dave manages to beat par at Villaitana

LAST year, Levante golf society’s members showed a reluctance to travel greater distances for meetings and so in 2015 the society will be playing more regularly at Villaitana and their ‘home’ course Oliva Nova.

And on the first visit this year it was the course which came out on top, with Dave Geeson the only player to better a level par score of 36 points.

Dave managed 37 points playing off 21 handicap and won division one by one point from the society’s vice captain, Anne Edwards. Another five points adrift and filling the third-place spot was Roy Molyneux.

Eric Edwards was a runaway winner of division two. He totalled 35 points off 28 handicap, seven ahead of Dick Temperton and eight points clear of Alan Simpson.

Nearest the pin winners were Keith Price and this year’s captain Alan Turpin.
