ANTONIO GALVAN, a Benalmadena artist, has been disqualified from a poster competition after apparently copying another artist’s work and claiming it for his own.
Yesterday (Wednesday January 21) Benalmadena Council presented the poster for this year’s Carnival celebrations in the Costa del Sol town, sporting a design titled Il Arlecciono, supposedly by the local artist.
Yet after the poster was presented, comments spread like wildfire across social media sites after a designer reported that the picture was actually by Flensted, an artist known across Europe for his hanging mobile designs.
Upon discovering the plagiarism, the council disqualified Galvan.
