Walk through picture perfect Nerja

EUROPE’S BALCONY: Part of Nerja’s photography route.

FEBRUARY 1 is the date chosen to celebrate the Photography Route ‘Villa de Nerja’.

The project was organised by the association ‘Yo Amo A La Axarquia’ (I love the Axarquia), supported by Nerja Council.

This event was created to honour the memory of Javier Aranda, the association’s founder, who passed away recently.

The photography route will start at 10am with a breakfast at the Cultural Centre Villa de Nerja.

At 11am participants will start the itinerary to photograph streets and monuments around the town, amongst which are the Las Angustias Chapel, the Calahonda beach and the Balcony of Europe.

Expert photographers Angel Aranda and Jose Gonzalves will assist participants with photography techniques and tips.

In the afternoon, and after the lunch break, the Nerja Caves Foundation has contributed tickets so that participants can visit the cave for free. Pictures will be taken in this natural monument until the end of the journey at 6.30pm.

All the pictures will be added to an album on the association’s Facebook page and the contest will begin.

The ‘most liked’ pictures will be sent to the town hall, where a board of experts will choose three winners.

The first prize consists of a spa session for two in Nerja and the second prize will be dinner for two at a local restaurant.
