ALTHOUGH Pope Francisco will be following the celebrations planned for the 500th anniversary of the birth of Saint Teresa of Avila, he will not be visiting Spain this year.
The Secretary of State of the Holy See wrote to Monsignor Ricardo Blazquez, head of the Spanish Synod, to inform him that Pope Francisco does not plan to visit the country in 2015.
In the letter, the Vatican stated that although he will not be present, the Pope is interested in celebrations held for Saint Teresa and prays for Christian life to give abundant fruits in Spain.
