BENIDORM Town Hall has reduced its debt by more than €50 million.
For the first time in years its 2015 budget of €92 million is greater than its debt.
“Thanks to the steps taken to adapt to the government’s Budgetary Adjustment Plan we have cut the deficit from €145 million to just below €91 million,” said the Finance councillor Natalia Guijarro. The same austerity measures have also enabled the town hall to pay suppliers within 30 days. “We’re on the right path and doing well,” Guijarro added.
