ANDY MURRAY has made it through to Sunday’s Australian Open final after an ill-tempered match against Tomas Berdych.
Characterised by swearing, tantrums and staring matches, Murray eventually triumphed 6-7 (6-8), 6-0, 6-3, 7-5 to book his place in the final where he will face the winner of the other semifinal between world number one Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka.
In the women’s, the world’s top two players will face off against each other on Saturday, when Serena Williams meets Maria Sharapova. Williams had the tougher time in her semifinal against Madison Keys, winning 7-6 (7-5), 6-2, while Sharapova breezed through against her Russian compatriot Ekatarina Makarova 6-3, 6-2.
