VALENCIA’S Ports Authority (APV) agreed to allow Gandia’s Club de Pesca to fish from the harbour’s southern pier.
Members of the angling club can already fish from the northern pier and have been asking for years for permission to extend to the south side.
The APV, aware that sea-fishing is a longstanding Gandia pursuit, has now granted the club permission to fish there throughout 2015, announced Gandia’s mayor, Arturo Torro.
Members of the angling club may now fish from both piers for pleasure, sport or in competitions but without making any profits.
