PRUNING: Not sci-fi, just a special crane.
WORK has now begun in Villajoyosa on paving for the Creueta and Avenida Pianista Gonzalo Soriano park.
“A €119,873 grant from the Alicante Diputacion provincial government has allowed us to remodel both these areas and make a notable improvement to this part of town,” said Jeronimo Lloret, local councillor for Economic and Sustainable Development.
The park’s sand is to be replaced with paving stones, something that residents have long been asking for, Lloret added. Street lighting will be improved and the garden areas are being spruced up.
“There will be a bicycle lane in the Creueta park as well as in Avenida Pianista Gonzalo Soriano,” Lloret confirmed.
Meanwhile at the other end of town, palm trees on the beach have now been lopped, using an extendible crane specially adapted for use on sand.
