Locals unite to promote Montuiri neighbourhood

A CITIZEN’S initiative called ‘Any del Molinar’ has launched a campaign to encourage tourism at the Barrio del Molinar in Montuiri.

The group has designed a comprehensive document outlining how they plan to reach their target, including creating a citizens’ forum and an art and history trail, highlighting the celebration of Sant Joan in the area, and holding talks and conferences about the neighbourhood, as was explained by local digital newspaper Es Binerbo.

The local windmills, which date back to medieval times, and the calle del Molinar, are some of the most attractive points, in terms of architecture.

“We aim to combine the conservation of the neighbourhood’s heritage with the material progress of the town,” says the text.
