FUENGIROLA has spent €212,000 on new vehicles and machinery to keep the town’s beaches in top condition.
Two four-wheel drive vehicles and a small lorry will allow workers to get themselves and their tools to the areas they are working on more efficiently.
A specific sand cleaning machine, small enough to allow easy access to difficult areas, will collect rubbish and pebbles while helping to keep bacteria down.
Beaches councillor, Jose Sanchez, explained that Fuengirola’s beaches form one of its main attractions and must be kept in the best state possible.
