THE body of a 45-year-old woman was found by emergency services on February 6 at her home in Velez-Malaga, where there had been a fire.
The authorities were alerted by a health care worker, who was due to assist the woman at her home but could not enter the property as she was not answering the door in the neighbourhood of Arroyo de San Sebastian.
Members of the Provincial Fire Department, Local Police and National Police broke the door open and found there was a small amount of smoke in the room, as well as the woman’s lifeless body. The fire had already burnt out by itself when the authorities entered the premises.
Police are now trying to establish whether the cause of death was smoke inhalation.
