A MAN died after being hit on the head by another in a Sotogrande restaurant last Saturday night (February 7.)
The Guardia Civil police force reported that a British man dining at the restaurant noticed another man, who was German, using an electronic tablet device to film his daughter.
Although the father asked the other man (who the police later reported had been arrested just days beforehand in possession of pornographic material involving minors) to stop filming, he took no notice. An argument ensued during which the British father took the device from his victim, saw images of his daughter on the screen and punched him on the head.
Emergency services were called by Sotogrande urbanisation security guards, and although the man was rushed to La Linea hospital in an ambulance he died soon afterwards.
Meanwhile policemen used witness descriptions to identify and track down the father, who had left the premises, and arrest him.
