RESIDENTS in Las Lagunas in Mijas Costa protested against roadworks that they claim will cause at least 200 parking spaces to be lost.
Wider pavements were included in the plans for work on a number of streets in the neighbourhood, and residents declared that, although they are not against the work itself, they do not want to end up unable to park.
Local residents refused to move their cars from the streets in an attempt to halt the works, and declared they would continue to protest until a written statement was provided by the mayor guaranteeing parking spaces would not be lost.
