Classic car enthusiasts treated to display in Palma

MORE than 240 rare and classic cars will proudly parade around the streets of Palma next Sunday (February 15).

The town council announced the gathering to be “the largest one in the history of Mallorca.”

The event will start at 9am at the car park of Son Moix, and the vehicles will form a cavalcade around the streets from 10pm to 11pm. They will be displayed at Calle Jaume III until 2pm.

Cars from many different makers and eras are participating in the event, including some dating back to 1918, 60 American vehicles, around 90 Spanish cars and others from England and France.

Noteworthy are the Ford A, Cadillacs from the 50s, Mustangs, Buicks and Plymouths, and also Spanish classics such as the Ford Fiesta, the Seat 600 and Symcas.

Councillor for Commerce, Esperanza Crespi, explained that the event “has been possible thanks to the energy and enthusiasm of a group of classic car fans.”

Council representatives advised visitors that Plaza de la Reina, el Borne and la Rambla would be the best viewpoints.
