A 33-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in Velez-Malaga, accused of defrauding an insurance company.
National Police officers started the investigation after the man reported someone had broken into his home in December 2014.
He gave a thorough list of items that he claimed had been stolen from his property.
However, a few days later he attended the police station again because he said he had noticed more items missing.
The investigation confirmed that some of the objects claimed missing were still inside his home and had not been stolen. He explained that €20,000 in cash had been stolen from him and his insurance company would not refund the money, and so tried to recover it by claiming missing objects for which he would be refunded.
