A BRITISH bank robber on the run for 10 years has been arrested by the Guardia Civil in Turis, Valencia.
The 60-year-old man had been wanted by UK authorities since he escaped to Spain using a false passport during his first temporary release, five years into his 14-year jail sentence.
The man, who was jailed for his involvement in five violent bank robberies, set up his home in the Valencian municipality of Turis and has lived there under a false name ever since.
The Guardia Civil’s Fugitives Group collaborated with UK police and court authorities during the investigation leading to the arrest.
