MIJAS will be dressing up to party on February 21 and 22 to celebrate this year’s carnival.
Events for all ages are planned, starting with a costume competition on Saturday 21 at 4pm in the Parque de Andalucia for children under 12, with bouncy castles, face-painting, chocolate tasting and other activities planned.
The following day parades will begin at 11am, in Mijas Pueblo from the town hall, La Cala from the Centro Cultural and Las Lagunas from Maria Zambrano park.
Those wishing to take part in the parades and competitions must sign up at the departures points half an hour beforehand.
Prizes for costume competitions held during the parades total €1,780 for each of the three areas.
