JAPANESE tour operator Tumlare has set its sights on Malaga City’s carnival celebrations, which it believes could be a great attraction for its clients.
Japanese tourists are particularly interested in culture, gastronomy and traditional celebrations, say the promoters, of which the carnival is certainly an eye-catching example.
Carmen Muñoz, director of Tumlare in Spain, visited the city to experience carnival celebrations first-hand and learn more about them from the Tourism department.
The director also planned visits to Echegaray and Cervantes Theatres, and the Automobile Museum.
The tour operator intends to organise a traditional kimono show during next year’s carnival in the city, with approximately 100 people coming from Japan to take part in the show and the traditional carnival parade.
