WORK has now begun to repair several roads damaged by recent storms in the vicinity of Mojacar. The project has been drawn up by the Department of Public Works, Agriculture and the Environment of the province of Almeria.
The remedial work on the Camino Eras del Lugar and the Camino de Micar will take approximately three months to complete and cost €36,670, which is a large saving against the original budget of €52,800.
The work, which is to be carried out by Mojacar council workers, will include tidying up and strongly reinforcing the Camino Era del Lugar and resurfacing the Camino de Micar. No changes in the width of the road, or the street layout, are envisaged although a number of extra drainage ditches will be dug out where the space permits.
