TWO doctors at the scene and a defibrillator saved the life of a Meridiano Antequera handball player who had a heart attack during a training session.
Dario Mata, aged 19, collapsed 10 minutes into a friendly match the handball team began after their usual work out, in what the club later described as the worst moments in its history.
Witnesses reported that it took half an hour to revive the unconscious player, who was later taken to Antequera Hospital and at time of going to press was reported to be recovering well.
