SALOBREÑA COUNCIL has collected proceeds recently raised by local associations to help struggling families in the town.
Representatives of the town Senior Centre, the Virgen del Rosario Association, together with the local branch of Alcoholics Anonymous, have been carrying out several charitable events during the past few months with the goal of donating all proceeds, as well as private contributions, to helping those who need it the most.
Mayor Gonzalo Fernandez Pulido and the councillor for Social Wellness, Maria Carmen Callejon, received an amount close to €800 which will be earmarked for different social programmes carried out by the council’s Social Services department.
