GUARDIA CIVIL in Inca have recovered a large collection of motorbiking star Jorge Lorenzo memorabilia that had been stolen from a garage.
As reported in last week’s EWN, officers detained a 40-year-old man for allegedly breaking into a house in Inca and taking motorcycle-related objects worth thousands of euros.
The property stolen included three suits, several helmets, goggles, boots, leggings and gloves, all belonging to former MotoGP world champion Jorge Lorenzo, who had donated the memorabilia to the Balearic Motorcycle Foundation for display.
Lorenzo, who was born in Palma in 1987, was reported to have been upset by the theft as the items held a great deal of sentimental value, having been worn during some of the 2012 champ’s best races. He has thanked the Guardia Civil for their success in tracing the items.
