THE almond blossom has finally burst into life – a couple of weeks later than normal due to the recent rain, snow and utterly miserable weather.
However, this spectacle is a sure sign that warmer weather is on the way – a welcome view to cheer us all up! The Jalon Valley has been blanketed in a carpet of pink and white blossom, with breathtaking views around every corner, as this photo by Jo Pugh shows.
The best villages to see the wonderful Candy Floss effect are Parcent, Alcalali and Benigembla.
Located just off Exit 63 of the AP-7 at Benissa, it is well worth packing a picnic and camera and spending the day admiring one of Mother Nature’s beautiful creations.
