AN ENGLISH tourist escaped injury after his car fell down a 50-metre cliff on the Serra road, which connects Andratx and Estellencs.
Local Police from Andratx and Guardia Civil officers, as well as the fire brigade and other authorities, attended the scene to assist the victim.
However, and to the surprise of all witnesses, the man was able to get out of the car on his own, virtually uninjured.
Guardia Civil conducted an alcohol test which gave a positive result.
The authorities believe that the man lost control of the car on a stretch of road with many curves, crashing against a concrete protection wall and falling down the cliff.
The man originally rejected the assistance of healthcare workers although he later remarked that he had a pain in his shoulder and was taken to the Son Espases hospital.
