PINE processionary caterpillars ruined the day for a large group of cyclists who ended up in A&E.
A traditional Andalucia Day bike ride in Los Palacios y Villafranca (Sevilla) turned bad for 300 cyclists after they reached the Parque de La Corchuela and discovered a plague of the dangerous caterpillars which caused wide-spread allergic reactions.
Medical staff had to provide anti-histamines and steroid jabs as the plague wrecked havoc amongst the cyclists.
The town hall has reported the incident and demanded an explanation from those responsible for the park, as no warning had been given of the plague.
