A MARBELLA policeman that forged a colleague’s signature to cancel a friend’s parking fine has been given an 18 month jail sentence.
A Malaga Provincial Court judge considered the policeman was guilty of faking documents to cancel a fine a colleague had given a friend of his for parking on the pavement.
During the hearing the accused admitted he had filled in the form but denied having forged the other policeman’s signature.
Along with the jail sentence, the policeman has been fined €900 and banned from police work for one year.
