HELP Vega Baja held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Asturias Restaurant, Punta Prima.

Members who attended were presented with reports on the year’s activities, including financial accounts which showed the charity to be in a sound position to carry forward and support members, their benefits and the help it provides to everyone in the Vega Baja area, throughout the coming year.

Due to personal commitments the Acting President, Pauline Yates announced that she was standing down as President. Val Cheng, Hospital Visiting Co-ordinator was nominated and appointed as President. Chris Stimpson was re-elected as Treasurer and Richard Garland remains as Charity Secretary. Michele Masson remains Publicity Officer.

Pauline’s final duty was to present the annual report for the charity. She advised that new legislation introduced for all charitable associations had proved to be not only challenging, but had also increased the workload considerably. She thanked all volunteers, including committee members for their assistance in ensuring that the new procedures were put in place and for their efforts in doing so.
