THE average price of used cars in the Balearic Islands rose by 9 per cent in February, compared with the same month in 2014.
The average price has now reached €10,761, according to data collected by the website coches.net. The study also found that the price is €1,458 below the national average, which went up by 9.4 per cent in February, reaching €12,219.
The study shows that buyers in the Balearic Islands have a nose for a bargain, displaying higher interest in cheaper cars, as 47 per cent of the demand is for cars priced below €5,000, while vehicles with higher prices spark minimum interest.
In terms of the kind of cars for sale in the Balearic Islands, the most popular are sedans (58 per cent), manual (58 per cent) and diesel fuel (52 per cent).
Cars with more than 100,000 kilometres account for 35 per cent of the market, and the average age of the vehicles is seven years and five months.
The Balearic Islands is the autonomous community with the third most affordable used car prices, according to this study.
