CORREOS, the Spanish state postal service, has officially been awarded the Guinness world record for the largest stamp mosaic in the world.
As reported in EWN, the mosaic was created at the Martin Campena sports stadium in Malaga City last November 6-8, with a total of 230,000 stamps used to create a 220 square metre mosaic.
A total of 3,100 people took part, working for 22 hours to create the giant mosaic.
The record was previously held by the South African postal service and Hatfield Tuition College for a 162 square metre Johannesburg skyline scene created over one month with 201,000 stamps.
