LOCAL POLICE officers arrested two women who are accused of deceiving and robbing elderly people outside banks.
The two Romanian women were wanted by seven courts across Spain and had outstanding warrants for arrest. The two are alleged to have approached their elderly victims claiming to be part of a charity organisation and asking for donations.
The police allege that if donations were not forthcoming the two women, aged 20 and 25, used the time to pickpocket wallets.
Head of the Local Police in Huercal de Almeria, Diego Muñoz, urged residents to use caution, especially the elderly when collecting their pensions.
