Patrolling heroes save Finnish man from death in Fuengirola

TWO policemen saved a 24-year-old Finnish man’s life when he tried to jump off a motorway bridge in Fuengirola.

The officers, who were both injured during the rescue, were sent to the scene following a call to emergency services reporting there was a man on the bridge tying a rope around his neck.

When they approached, they saw the young man sitting on the railings crying and muttering in a language they did not understand.

Although they tried to calm him down as they got closer, the young man jumped before they reached him and they both had to rush hang over and grab him before he fell to his death.

Although one policeman’s shoulder was injured and the other hurt his back, they both insisted on ending their shift while an ambulance took the young man for medical treatment.
