A MAN who filmed himself speeding on a Spanish motorway with his young child standing beside him has been tracked down and charged by the police.
After internet users reported to the Guardia Civil police force that a video was being spread on social media sites, police investigators started work to discover the make of the car and track the driver down.
The video began by focusing on the car’s speedometer and showing how it quickly reached a speed of almost 190 kilometres per hour before moving to show the sides of the A15 motorway towards Almazan, Soria, and other vehicles it quickly left behind.
The camera then turned to show the driver’s face and his four-year-old son standing up and grinning between the two front seats.
Policemen identified and charged a 25-year-old man from El Burgo de Osma (Soria) for crimes against road safety.
“He drove a motor vehicle recklessly, endangering lives including that of his son, who was not even in a car seat,” the police force statement declared.
